I've never tried the "Home" thing, and that is interesting. When I tried it though, I was a bit confused because the list of new posts seems to be slightly different from what I see by doing the "New Posts" thing, but I'm not sure I understand what the difference is. It's kind of like some of the forums must be excluded, but I don't understand why. Could it be that only forums that I have posted to are included or something? But then I noticed you said that "feeds" were excluded, but I don't know what you mean by feeds.
The New Posts thing seems to have the advantage that once you've read a post, it no longer appears, but sometimes you want to find those threads to edit something, and the Home button would seem to be good for that. But the Home thing only goes back one page, which sometimes is a disadvantage. Anyway, that's a neat alternative.
I did find a problem with using the exclude forums from view thing, as it doesn't let you get to that forum even when you want to. Ie there are times when I might want to browse these other forums. However, I guess I could just reset the exclude thing, browse, then re-set it again.
All this to save a couple clicks.
EDIT: I just noticed another problem with using the "Home" button. When there is a thread with a lot of responses, like the IA5KU thing, the New Posts gives you little "1 2..." buttons to allow you to view the end of the thread, whereas from the "Home" page, you have to go to the first page of the thread.
