I may be a bit confused as well, however I think there are two different things called IPTV. Ie there is a channel on
IA5 called IPTV, which if I understand correctly is a
Thai channel. However IPTV also seems to be a generic term referring to Internet Protocol TV, as introduced by
Sadoun's
http://www.sadoun.net/forums/iptv/58...highlight=IPTV thread.
I had been trying to find out from Sadoun exactly what the IPTV referred to, ie whether it was similar to video on demand (VOD) sent by DVB or perhaps similar to the transmission of video over networks like from TSREADER to a Roku or via VLC from computer to computer by HTML or UDP format, however I haven't been able to figure out just what IPTV refers to.
However I get the impression that there is confusion between those two terms in this thread. The interesting thing, however, is that if you go to the Thai IPTV web page, it mentions a VOD system, so it just might be that the Thai IPTV might use the same IPTV system that Sadoun was referring to. However if Rainman is able to view it when it is not encrypted, then I don't think it is VOD, so I'm still confused. But that's nothing new.
