I just recently made an addition to my collection of boxes that I would highly recommend. I added a Surround Sound receiver with optic input and multiple video inputs. The optic input will permit you to listen to the Dolby channels and multiple video inputs allow you to easily switch back and forth between video sources. I had been set up similiar to the instructs here on
Sadoun's site which works well just really like this setup I have now. The receiver i bought was an inexpensive Sherwood. Paid in the $125.00 range for it.
Unless you are planning on subscribing to the very limited
Spanish language channels available on 30 there is no need to buy a CI receiver. At this time there just isn't any programming available (sub type).
You may want to consider buying a kit from Sadoun. I started out witha DSR922 and dish then slaved on a FTA (DVB MPEG2) receiver then bought a seperate dish for Ku on the DVB receiver, then upgraded the dish... I think you get the picture. Having the complete system for Ku let's it run as intended. You will be able to surf all the Ku sats and channels very easily. Using the big dish for DVB MPEG2
C Band and feeding the 4DTV receiver.
The process when slaved to a big dish is: Choose your channel (so you know what sat you want), switch to the 4DTV and move the dish to the sat. Now switch back and see if your channel is there. If not just change the channel on the 4DTV box up 1. I am speaking of the channels from 1-24. Once you get into the virtual channels an entire group will be of the same polarity.
With a dedicated dish for the DVB MPEG2 receiver anything you want on Ku is simply choose the channel. The motor moves the dish to the appropriate sat and your channel is there. I would also buy the 36" dish right off. The difference in reception is worth way more than the $20.00 difference between it and the 80cm.
