I know that it isn't good to be critical of Sadoun here, but I couldn't let this comment pass. I think that while Sadoun prices for equipment is very fair, I think that shipping charges is the one place where Sadoun is not competitive with other vendors. I'm not sure if this is due to packaging or what. However, before I bought my 90CM, I had really wanted to buy a 1M dish, however for a $99 dish, Sadoun wanted anywhere fron $88 to $415, and that was NOT including the $30
"Home Delivery Surcharge" or the $25 "
Truck Lift gate (optional)", whatever these charges are. This is hardly "slightly higher than the sales tax" as you say. I ended up buying the smaller dish, which had more affordable shipping charges, rather than the dish I really wanted. THe bigger dishes are even worse with respect to shipping charges. I think the shipping cost on the small
C-band dishes here is higher than I paid (10 years ago) for shipping my whole 10' H-H C-band dish, that weighed 3 times what the Sadoun dishes weigh, and that shipped some 3,000 mi from California.
Anyway, I'm sure that there are reasons for this, such as increasing fuel costs, etc, but I think shipping costs may be reasonable, but are simply not affordable for many of the items sold at Sadoun. Certainly not only slightly higher than sales tax, but often more costly than the item purchased, which was the situation in my case, since DHL seem incapable of finding my house at times.
