Interesting. Besides being used as described, it looks to me like one might possibly be able to modify this to replace motors on bigger dishes. Might take a bit of engineering though.

However reason for my response is that I think that the web page linked above is somewhat misleading. Ie if I understand correctly, this is basically like a regular big dish motor in that it is DC controlled, with a pulse generator, so that a regular analog IRD would control it, and a FTA receiver can control it via a VBOX. However the web page makes it sound like the motor itself is DiseqC 1.2 controlled. This seems to be incorrect, since it's the VBOX that is DiseqC 1.2, not the motor. Am I misinterpreting this???

I also have a question though, in that from your web page, I don't understand what the 2 "zero" wires do? I assume it is related to the go-to zero reference function, but I don't understand how it works on this motor. Is this just a switch which activates when the motor is centered or something? Just curious.

Finally, a comment about the last paragraph on the web page, which describes how to find FTA signals by using the "F" designation at the Lyngsat site. I think this has confused several newcomers to this forum because Lyngsat labels DCII FP channels with the "F" designation, and these are NOT FTA. It might reduce a bit of confusion if this were explained better. For example, someone may buy one of your FTA receivers expecting to be able to receive GPTV or LaPB on AMC3 for example, and then find that the "F" label on these channels does not mean FTA.
