Have you tried more than one transponder??? What sat/transponder is this happening on??? Does the receiver have the original firmware? Like Rainman said, will be interesting to hear if it scans in channels. If it has that much quality, it should lock and scan channels fine. If no, something wrong with receiver or firmware. Only other thing I can think of, is that sometimes I see very weird meter readings when I just lock a transponder for a second and the dish moves or something, and I lose signal, but when that happens, if I change transponders and back again, the high reading will be gone. I would go to the TP scan option, and go from transponder to transponder and see what the signal/quality says.
I kind of like the idea of your signal over 100% being displayed as 01 or 04 . Do you happen to have an inline amplifier on the coax ? or a particularly short coax run to the lnb ?
