I'm new to this forum and a new in FTA downlinking. I am located in Montreal canada.

I have a fixed 33'' antenna with a standard LNBF and I just can't get my Fortec receiver to see any signal. I have a Satellite finder, I'm looking for GALAXY 10R at 123 deg.

My satellite finder give me a ''beep'' on many satellites but I just don't seem to find GAL10R as my quality meter is always to ZERO... The level meter is always at 83-84 even if I'm not even beaming on a bird which seems rare to me..

I followed Sadoun instruction to set up my LNBF (10750, LNB Power ON, FTA) but there is no way I'll get quality meter to react and raise.

IM just totally lost... Anybody have an idea ?
Are you tuning signals on other sats, or just seeing a response from your meter?
What kind of meter are you using? Ie one of those SF95 type things or a more sophistocated one that identifies satellites? The cheap SF95 things can be confused by stronger sats nearby, and actually in this case, the more sophistocated meters could be confused by this too. G10r is a fairly strong sat in the northeast, so you should be able to see it, however there is a nearby sat that interferes a bit. You might have to use your Ultra's meter. I'd set up the Ultra on the 11800 / 26657 transponder in either the TP scan or antenna setup screen, and watch the quality meter as you move your dish.

Sadoun has censored my signature for no good reason, which is annoying.
