1. P has nothing to do with the azimuth.
2. Set the
STab elevation at 34.
3. Dish elevation = P- (60-Lat)
= 50-(60-34) = 24
4. Your due south is the satellite @ your Long 117, so your due south sat is SatMex5.
5. Make sure the LO set correctly.
6. Azimuth of SatMex = 180 +/- magnetic deviation.
7. Aim your dish at SatMex direction, try to get lock. In case you need to adjust the elevation, only adjust the DISH elevation. Don't touch the Stab elevation.

My zip is 91016. My Lat is 34N, Long is 117W (very close to 118). P is
50.4. Azimuth is 180.
Here is where I need a little help, and am therefore wondering if these
are correct:
180 - 50.4 (P) - 14 (Mag Dev) = 115.6 is approximately where I should
point the dish w/ Stab, but since there's really no usable satellite around that slot except for Anik F1 (107.3W) and G10R (123.0W), I should go with G10R as my due south satellite (Stab = 0), correct?
Thank you,
Adam
