This came up in another thread. I think having it upside down would make it easier for water to get inside, both where the shaft goes in, but also the coax connections would be more exposed to the weather if I remember right. I also wonder if the bearings that hold the shaft might loosen up if upside down. Ie they may be held in place by gravity?
