ok,
What you need to do is use your most south satellite to tune up on. For argument sake say it's
telstar 5. Use usls 1.3 and select telstar 5. You need to make sure you select an active transponder. Check the lyngsat charts for that. Once you select T5 using usls do not use the nudge buttons, that just throws you off. When you select T5 it's on T5 as far as the rotor is concerned. Once you do that, climb on the roof. Use a compass and get your true south bearing. Move the whole dish/arm mount a degree or two turning the whole unit. See what I'm getting at. Once the receiver thinks it's at T5 you have to rotate the whole unit until you are on T5. Once that's done then peak the satellite and tighten the nuts on the whole mount. If your good to go on T5 or AMC 3, whatever and as long as your pole is perfectlly vertical then the usls will put you right on the money. It helps to have a sigal meter. I think
sadoun sells them for about $20. It makes it easier when your up on the roof, move the whole dish left or right until you get a hit and go and check the receiver to see if your on the right sat. If not go back up and hit the next one. You will get it. My way of tuning is a little different than Sadouns' but all things being equal it works just fine. If you do follow Sadoun's setup instructions exactly as stated then you will be o.k. 8)
