Boy, that can be a task. Once those things are mounted in concrete, it takes a backhoe to get one out, and if you cut it off at the surface, it will probably be too short. I tried getting a concrete footer out of the ground once, and almost pulled the frame off my car, even though I was using a lever type thing to pull up instead of horizontal. Never did get it out. I think I could do it now, with a small backhoe I have, but it would take digging around it first.
But yes, if you can get the pole, it will save a lot of searching, because some places those things are hard to find, plus if you do find them, they come in 22' lengths, and since most people only need about 11' or 12', you'd have to get it cut. On my first dish, when I lived near Baltimore, there was a nice pipe store that sold the stuff at a reasonable cost, but up here you can't find the stuff. I had to get the contractor who built my house to find some, and he had to go about 90 miles away to find it.
