? I assume by "tailgate" you're referring to a hamfest?

The interesting thing about this, is that up this way, getting rid of trash, is more and more becoming something that individuals have to pay for, rather than just being something that government does for you. When this trend began a few years ago, it first began to noticed at ham-fests. Ie, people started to use ham-fests as a way to get rid of big items that were no longer being picked up with regular trash. They'd take sat dishes and old useless electronic equipment to hamfests, and put them up for sale, for basically nothing, then when no-one bought them, they'd just leave them there. The hamfest organizers would end up having to pay to dispose of all the junk people left behind. The hamfests had to make new rules that vendors couldn't use the hamfest as a garbage dump. I haven't attended one since all this started, but I suspect that there aren't as many sat dishes available anymore, because the odds are better that the person bringing them would have to take them home with them if not sold.
