Sounds like a good plan. I would go that route. As far as a few branches it will reduce your signal & quality slightly. If there is dense foliage, It may block it enough you wont be able to receive anything. Keep in mind when the wind blows you may experience an intermittent outage from the trees swaying. So, since your going to keep a thresh hold of around thirty degress & most sats are above 40. You should be fine. Hope this helps.
