We need more info about the dish. If the dish is 18 or 24", it's DBS type, too small for KU FTA DVB.
If the dish is 30 or 36", then it's good for Ku FTA.
If the dish is 6ft or larger, then it's
C-band, good for C-band FTA DVB.
Check out the link below for free Colombia channels:
http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Colombia.shtml
Most of them is on C-band NSS 806 at 40W which can be seen in the West. Plus the ones on NSS 806 satellite are DC2, so DVB receiver can't be used to decode them. Even you can see the NSS 806 sat, you have to check if these channels are beamed to North America. I can't confirm if these channels are beamed to N.America.
Here is the good things:
There are 2 Colombia channels which for sure you can get in N.America using DVB.
1. Canal CNC Colombia on Satmex5 at 116W, C-band. You must have a C-band dish to get this channel. Minimun size for C-band is 7.5 ft.
2. Cenal Colombia on Satmex5, Ku. You can get this channel using a Ku dish. Minimum size for Ku is 76"
Sadoun has all the equipment you need. Check out the product section.

How should I hook up everithing correctly? I would like to see channels in spanish (specially from Colombia) is that possible? is this really free? or do I need to subscribe to a cable or sattellite company?
All the help and advise that you can give me would be very appreciated and please in 'plain english'. Thanks.
