They would not put that "Loop Through" port for another receiver, if it had any danger. If you watch same channel on both of them or even different channels from the same transponder, it's OK, but if you want your "slave" receiver to get ALL the channels, then you need to turn the first receiver off.
First - "master" receiver has a control to eliminate any voltage changes, initiated by the second one.
