Thanks for the replies,

I guess elevation wouldn't be a proper term in this case, i am looking for the proper degree of the arc for the sat's on the left and right side of the arc.

I think that i should be able to get a clear view of most (maybe 2/3) of the sat's, but lets say if i am looking for AMC 1 (103^) or Galaxy 15 (133^) how would I check to see if i am going to have a clear view?
