From the original firmware, I am aware of one MAJOR fix. With the original firmware, if you scanned in a transponder which had a
HD channel, and then changed channel to that channel. it would deactivate your
remote control, and you'd have to turn the receiver off and on to recover. If your receiver doesn't do this, then it's probably new enough that it may not be worth updating, but if your receiver DOES do this, then it's definately worth updating.
I'm sure there were other things, but this was the main reason I did the update.
