Ok the small DN dish you speak of most likely has a built in internal switch that switches back and forth between the 2 lnbf's. Their systems can be quite complex sometimes. So you will require a DiSeqC switch to switch between multiple lnbf's. Now we look at what you have. 3 lnbf's. BUT the one small dish has a proprietary system not a "normal" run of the mill multi lnbf setup.

So lets say you put lnbf1 & lnbf2 from the small dish on port 1 of the DiSeqC and the lnbf from the larger dish on to port 3. Now you ask the motor to move to whatever sat and pull signal from port 3. Maybe this will cause the switch for the small dish to change at the same time thus not being able to get the proper signal to the receiver you desire. This most likely caused your small dish to switch to the left lnbf. As I think if you need to use lnbf2 from the small dish you need to send a constant signal for port2 to the dish.

I didn't know the quality of picture was different among providers, thanks for the info.

Rainman I read the posting rules and don't think I did anything wrong. I didn't ask anything about hacking or setup for hacking. I think I posted in the right place.
Once you get your FTA system properly setup just look at the picture quality between it and whatever provider you are using now. As you get more into this as a hobby it will be funny how you can tell who provided teh signal just by looking at a TV.
