Talking Let There Be Sound! (...and a quick story)

Their audio is back. I don't know if it helped, but I sent a "I'm a broadcast engineer and I noticed you have a problem" e-mail. I know that conventional wisdom says FTA viewers shouldn't contact programmers, but, I figured it couldn't hurt in this instance.

Which reminds me of a totally unrelated story...

About 25 years ago I was enjoying a massive VHF TV band opening. About 2 o'clock in the morning I picked up a San Antonio, TX station's test signal. On a whim, I decided to call 'em up to let them know how pretty their color bars were in New Orleans. An engineer actually answered the phone at that ridiculous hour, but for some reason he very nervously protested, "But I have the ID up!!"

Seems he associated New Orleans with a certain government agency's field office. When I explained that I was just a nutjob TV DXer, he let out a long sigh and said, "Oh thank God! I thought you were the FCC!"
