Hi Brent, I have not seen a feature of my Fortec lifetime ultra to boost output voltage. The few satellites I am receiveing seem to come in very good, both vertical and horizontal. I am more suspect at this time if my cable is too long for the Disq 1.2 signal to the dish motor. It works most of the time, but at times the dish appears to just go to some random point. I at the very beginning of programming and have located satellites at 79W, 82W and 97W, nothing any lower. looking for AMC4 at 101W, but have not found it yet.

Not sure if this is a factor, but I bought this Ultra new about 2 years ago. Just after I got it, had a job change involving a move and now am just getting time to set it up. On the Fortec website, there is an updated file dated May 2006. My SW version is dated around June 2005. That may help, but I haven't found a straight through serial cable with female ends on each end.

As always, I appreciate any and all input on this

Ken

You might measure the DC voltage at the end of your cable. If it is low, some receivers can "up " the voltage range to 14-19V instead of the standard 13-18 volts. This may compensate for the voltage drop of a long cable run. Initially I had similar problems to yours, which were temporarily cured by boosting my DC voltage from the STB. Later, I shortened up the cables, eliminated a few connections, and am back to the 13-18 VDC setting with good results.
