The M1 system with 90CM dish arrived, and I assembled and installed the dish on a wood pallet/cart ( see pictures ).
Thanks for everyone's comments, in particular DruzeTito for recommending to use AMC5 as my south Sat. After about 2 hours of messing with the dish alignment, I saw my first video from this system on AMC5 79W. Initially I was barely getting enough signal to lock, and not knowing that I may be working with weak transponders did not help the matters either. But once AMC5 was scanned, then the Fortec NA picked up other channels that were much stronger.
At this time, I am getting a max of 88 % on one AMC5 channel, and the rest of AMC5 coming 66-73 % .
IA5 97W comes around 60-70 %.
Should I get more signal from IA5? After tuning in on IA5 via USALS, further manual tuning by hand does not provide any further increase in signal.
PBS channels on AMC3 are weak 30% or so.
Does it mean I am not sweeping the arc right on the money? I experimented with moving the LNBF slightly forward and back to/from the dish, also slightly turning the LNBF. None helped with any increase in signal.
The next task would be to install a fixed free standing pole 4-5 ft above ground in the back yard. Is there any good web site that shows how deep of a hole and how much concrete is needed?
Again, I thank everyone for the comments/suggestions. This forum is one of the best I have encountered online.
