They say Coolsats and their system could be linked just fine (through switches? 2 boxes?billing?) couldn't give me more details. I want Directv and FTA channels in one dish. That's why I'm lost with switches. But you know what,, too much of a hazzle & too much static. I will get help from a local technician. Its just that we get so darned many newbies jumping into the forums trying to get hacking information, oftened very well disguised. Sorry if we tarred you with the same brush, but yes, we do have itchy trigger fingers, and yes, we do sometimes jump to inappropriate conclusions. One must admit, having 3 Coolsat receivers does look a little suspicious. And DirecTv was wrong if they told you Coolsat receivers will work with their service; no way. As for everything on one dish -- way too complicated as elgemcdlf says. However, I suspect the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) of having more than one dish is pretty low...
Whatever you decide I hope you will stick around. Again, I am sorry for the rough welcome.
