[EDIT] - Actually .. sorry .. i DO know why you d need a larger dish..
I just noticed.. those German channels there are located at
C Band.. (and NOT at KU band.. ) - so for C band - a larger dish is needed:
"3840 H" (the tp those are on) = C Band...
