How many cables do I really need?

I am in Metairie, La. (just outside of New Orleans. I have a Dish 500 (Pro I think) with 2 510's and a 311, with a quad LNB (not sure which one Dish installed it). We are going to add another receiver for my mother's bedroom (living there due to losing home in Katrina). Currently we have three seperate runs, one for each receiver.

My mother's house is undergoing serious renovations from Katrina as well, and we are getting ready to install a centralized Leviton Media Center. I was looking at using a 5X8 Multiswitch PN#47691-5MS and a video amplifier 48210-VA to bring 2 of the lines into the house and distribute them to the 4 locations where we are putting the receviers. Will that work? We will also be wiring for regular cable, with one single run coming into the media center. I know how that part will work out with the Multiswitch, no problem there (at least until someone tells me otherwise!!)
I keep getting told (mainly by Dish Network installers) that I have to have seperate runs for each receiver, which is why I am doubting whether what I am going to do will work.
