Successful connection to T5 - Thank You

I know these postings are mainly for installation support/questions, but I wanted to report my successful connection to T5 with my 90cm dish from Northern VA, and also, I wanted to thank everyone for posting to these forums. I read many of these messages before going up and making my final dish adjustments, so I had an idea of what to do and what to expect. Thanks a lot.

This was a big effort for me, since I needed to do a roof mount but received a mount designed only for side wall or ground mounting (non-elevated surfaces). I ended up building my own tripod-like mount for a roof installation for my heavy Fortec 90cm dish. My mount is very solid (all points screwed into rafters) and I used lots of sealant! Later, I will post a link to some photos that I took, in case anyone is interested. My roof on my 3 story, south-facing townhouse is ~18 feet above my deck. Imagine lugging a 90cm dish up that thing. :P Thank goodness for 300 lb.-rated ladders.

If this means anything to anyone, my elevation was calculated at 40.5 degress, but my Fortec 90cm received 100% quality at the 35 degree marking. Maybe my mast was off a tiny bit. I never tightened bolts so slowly in my entire life. After a second round at tightening them, my quality only slowly went from 100% to 90%. But, that's pretty good and I can see what I want to see.

Receiver: Fortec 786v3
LNBF: Fortec Universal 0.50 dB Single KU
Dish: Fortec 90cm
Location: Northern VA

Thanks again,
Andy O.
