I'm not sure you picked up on what Sadoun suggested, ie after you do the blind scan, and get stuck, and then delete that offending transponder, you don't need to do a blind scan again, because you've already done that, and the transponders have been saved. If you then do a satellite scan, it will look for signals on all the saved transponders determined in the blind scan, minus the one you deleted. This will save you the time of doing another blind scan above where it froze up, which I "think" is what you are doing (I know that is what I had been doing before I thought of the polarity switch thing). Anyway, I think Sadoun's suggesting should save you some time.
Was this the signal on IA8 BTW? I think that's the only place I've seen this behavior.
