What I was referring to was not specific to the Platinum receiver, but was information included in their description of another Fortec receiver with a Nagravision CAM capability, ie:

Note this describes the capability of subscribing to a specific Paquete Digital para América service on Hispasat 1C , and nothing else. Also, I just noticed that down at the bottom of the page it says "Note: This receiver will NOT work for DISH NETWORK. DN requires you to use their brand receivers to subscribe to their service."
I assume that this would apply to ALL fta receivers of any brand/model that have the CAM capability.

Well the multichannel per carrier thing is nothing special, and a FTA receiver is perfectly capable of receiving the Dishnet channels if they aren't encrypted, it's just that they aren't willing to make subscriptions available to non-dishnet receivers. Probably because they can't control the security.
