stab hh120 questions (limits; position values)

I just received my first diseqc motor today and i've been playing around with it (holding it by the base and not the tube) and seeing how it moves and how values I type into my positioner seem to affect its movement.

the twinhan 1020a card is the only device I have to drive the motor (other receivers that I thought were diseqc 1.2 were just diseqc 1.0 so of course they don't work in moving the motor).

I am using TSREADER's positioner interface to drive the motor. When I inputted "20" in the "goto" box, the reference mark moved from zero to the 20 degree mark left of center. I hit "0" and goto and it moved back to the center reference mark. I hit a minus number, thinking the motor would rotate to a mark to the right of the zero mark, but that negative number command was ignored and the dish didn't move anywhere. I hit "2" and goto and the dish moved to the 20 deg mark to the right hand side of the zero reference point.

I am having problems figuring out what value moves the dish to the left or right, especially as I thought "2" would move the mark on the tube to the 2 deg mark to the left of the zero line and not move it to the 20 deg mark to the right of the zero mark.

what are the proper values for a diseqc 1.2 driven motor (i.e. what values move the dish to the left side of the zero mark and what values move the dish to the right side of the zero mark).

I also wonder about limits. do i need someone to be watching the dish move and warn me when the dish gets around either 60 deg mark so I can set a limit (or does the stab hh120 have some kind of clutch or hard non-software limit stop to prevent motor damage should the motor continue to receive movement commands that take it beyond the edge of its rotation range?)

thanks.
