Like Druze said there is no calculation how to find your true south sat.
There is the east and west part of longitude, 0 -180 degrees East and 0 - 180 degrees west. This gives you the full circle 360 degrees. North America is in the 0 -180 degrees west longitude. Montreal is at 73.4 degrees west longitude location. Now going from 0 degrees West (0 degrees is somewhere in Great Britain) you stop at 73.4 and that’s where Montreal is. Looking at the list of FTA satellitesm available,
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Satellites/Satellite-List.htm you will find that AMC5 at 79 west is the closest one to your location (73.4).
