It has been a while since we had this discusison, but I finally broke down and picked up a 3500s.

Coming from a Coolsat, I have to say that I really dislike the interface.

The picture quality via component is nothing short of amazing as compared to composite or S-video.

Another feature I'm sure many will appreciate is that the 16x9 mode actually does something. In 16x9 mode it pillar-boxes the output so you don't have to look at the 4:3 image stretched out.

Of course usually the TV set handles this but I thought it was kind of cool to have that option.

I bought the 3500s because it had the skew control for my newly installed baby-BUD and I went with the 3500 over the 2700 for the component video.
