The most golden nugget of information I can suggest is to make sure your mount is 100 percent plumb before mounting your dish!

It's 100 times easier to troubleshoot problems, especially if it's a motorized mount. Don't for one second think that somehow it will work out, or the receiver will be able figgure it out, or you'll be close enough. This stuff is pretty picky about signal. Trust me. I still have a bad mounting job that only gets 5 or 6 sats that I need to tear down and do again.
