SM3D12 Elevation Scales

Is there a reason that the elevation scales on either side of the SM3D12 motor would be different from each other? Mine don't read the same on both sides. During my initial set up, I assembled my dish and motor and attached them to a post at ground level. Alignment went perfect using the scale on the left side (as viewed looking from dish to motor). All satellites were located with excellent signal strength and quality on all active transponders. I programmed all active FTA transponders on all satellites into my Lifetime Ultra. Then O mounted the dish and motor on my chimney and all I could see were the southern satellites. The only difference was that I used the elevation scale on the other side of the motor to set the shaft elevation angle. After I realized that I had used the different scales for my two alignments I realigned the motor with the other scale and everything worked fine. Has anyone had this same problem?
