Re: almost got it

If the pansat is similar to the FOrtec units, then you only need to set your latitude & longitude ONCE in the settings screen.
Each sat will read and display the numbers you saved, and since it doesnt change you should be all set in that regard. It is sort of confusing, I think they would have done better if using USALS to let you enter your LAT & LONG on a separate screen and not show that again, as it never changes.

You don't necessarily store "true south". That is a setting based on your location, and magnetic correction. You put the dish motor at "0" and line everything up (dish, motor, pole, etc) all to that setting.

THen, you use USALS to move the dish to a sat that has a good signal highest on the arc. Fine tune motor side to side, and dish elevation for best signal.

Now, you use USALS to move dish to sats on the extreme left, and extreme right (NOT "manually") and see how close it tracks. You might need to fine tune a little at both extremes for best signal.

The thing to remember, is when using USALS, the dish moves to each satellite based on a formula it calculates using your Latitude and Longitude you entered. It knows for example, that if you want AMC5 to move 10 degrees to the left from centerpoint. Or if you want G10R to move (say) 40 degrees to the right from center...

after finding my true south sat,(digisat sg2100 motor) I store that one as my reference /starting point. I want to catch as many sats as possible.

My question is this

in pansat 2300a setup....
what info do I set for the remaining sats? e.g.
my lat & long for each sat?
I am assuming that I select USALS for each sat that I want?

I read somewhere that if I select my True south as reference, and the manually move to the far east sat and select.......then move to far west sat and select that the remaining one in between will come in w/ no problem.

I am really more interested in the setup questions.......what do I enter for each sat I want to use AFTER I selected my reference position or TS sat?

thanx at all & great site and help here
