Can Telstar 12 be accessed with this size dish or is it too far away?
|
Telstar 12 channels are found here:
http://www.lyngsat.com/t12.shtml
On the top/middle of that page you will see the satellite name "Telstar 12". Click on that link. It will take you to the satellite owner's website.
Now, if you click on FLEET, it will take you to the list of satellites owned by that company
http://www.loralskynet.com/fleet/telstar12/t12ov_us.asp
Select Telstar 12.
Select FOOTPRINTS (
http://www.loralskynet.com/fleet/telstar12/t12ov_us.asp )
Footprints tell approximatelly the signal strength for a certain area. The higher the number, the smaller the dish needed.
For example the footprint for Telstar 12 is as follows:
For the Eastern USA, the strength is 48.
Now, if you go to our
Installation Support page
http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/Installation.htm
Click on "Check Dish Size Required for your Area"
http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Acces.../Dish-Size.htm
You will find out that a 65cm dish is minimum required for Eastern USA.
For Florida, for example, you will need a 75 cm dish, and so forth.
Buying subscription service is limited to certain satellites and packages. For example on Telstar 12 (
http://www.lyngsat.com/t12.shtml), look at the channel, type of encryption, and the beam. If it is a North America beam, contact the channel directly ask them about subscription requirements, recommended equipment needed, and so forth.
